As Dale Carnegie said, “Inaction breeds doubt and fear.
Action breeds confidence and courage.
If you want to conquer fear, do not sit at home and think about it go out and get busy.”
Taking action is the key to change.
Think about it, physically it gets blood pumping, it gets you going, you get a dopamine boost (way more beneficial from the small addictive hits you get scrolling your feeds) you get momentum, it fuels you moving forward even more.
Action brings satisfaction, brings motivation and it allows for manifestation.
I remember my first paid mentor back in 2012 saying at the start of the training, “If you don't take this action now, you may as well stop now, close this page, send me an email to let me know and I'll send you a refund immediately because you won’t get the results you’re after.” And he was right because I took the action and got results, whereas so many of my mentorship buddies did not.
It was also a red rag to a bull to me.
I’d invested in myself and I was GOING to get results!!!
I was like, “You're NOT taking this off me!!!
I'm gonna get this done.
And I'm going to win!!
It's amazing that desire to win, my competitive nature is so hardwired. It was further reinforced throughout my life, especially through sport. it gave me attention, confidence, drive, a voice, an opportunity to be myself. All the things I was lacking in the other areas of my life.
Now when I find myself struggling, I strap on my metaphoric football boots and prepare for battle with the mindset,
You won't outwork me on the pitch and you won't outwork me here!
You can tell me that I won't win, but I will show you!!!
This may not always be healthiest way to motivate yourself, but at the right time and right in the right context it works!!
If you’re nodding, then remember to step into this power!!
If you’re not, find what does fire you up and take action.
Enjoy the confidence and certainty that comes with it.
Choose your task and take action now.
You will thank yourself once you are done!
