The Kings School
WHAT
Ian Hawkins Coaching partnered with The King's School to elevate the mindset and performance of their football program. Initially working with the senior coaching staff and 1st and 2nd XI students, Ian provided tailored mindset coaching to help athletes and coaches maximise their potential. His role later expanded to include ongoing support for students, coaches, and parents across the entire football program.
WHY
The King's School is committed to maintaining excellence in their football program by developing not only technical skills but also mental resilience, focus, and confidence. By integrating mindset coaching into their football culture, they aimed to create a high-performance environment that supported athletes in both their sporting and personal development.
OUTCOMES
Ian’s coaching helped players develop stronger mental resilience, focus, and self-belief, leading to improved performance on the field. Beyond football, the flow-on effect was evident in students’ academic and extracurricular activities, with athletes demonstrating greater discipline, confidence, and the ability to manage pressure in all aspects of school life. The program also empowered coaches and parents with tools to better support the holistic development of students, ensuring lasting benefits beyond sport.
Ian has been instrumental at TKS, initially focusing on our senior football program and coaching staff to enhance performance standards over the next 5 years. He has conducted effective workshops aimed at establishing new standards and values, fostering stronger player-coach alignment, ownership, and accountability.
Since Ian's involvement, there's clear evidence of a positive shift in player and coach behavior, showing genuine buy-in and promising future prospects. Recently, Ian worked with our 2025 coaching staff to extend this journey across all levels, ensuring our students benefit from engaged, committed, and positive role models.
Looking ahead, we aim for Ian to engage with our parent community, emphasizing their crucial role in supporting their sons' development on and off the field. A supportive parent community will further inspire our boys, achieving greater collective success together.

We engaged Ian Hawkins during a time that we were committed to rebuilding a culture that fostered openness and growth.
Ian joined us to conduct a review of our wellness within the team. Soon after he started to engage and build relationships within the team, we learned that he was a coach who could help our staff members realise their potential and that they had a safe place to share their views. He assisted them with solutions and became an integral part of the change management at the Club.
His approach and nurturing persona was a great addition to the culture change and staff were grateful for the opportunity to spend time with him.
